• Friday 22 November 2024 Welsh Cup Football U15 Girls 3-4 Ysgol Bro Caereinion Newtown started last Friday’s match strongly, playing the better football from the off, creating several chances, before Caereinion’s captain scored an impressive double to give the home side a quick fire 2-0 lead.
• Sunday 17 November 2024 North Powys KS3 Football Tournament On Thursday, all three of our teams finished 5th. However, this doesn’t paint the full picture, as they all played incredibly well and could’ve finished much higher in the standings on another day.
• Friday 15 November 2024 U14 & U16 Rugby vs Caereinion
• Thursday 14 November 2024 North Powys U16 Netball Newtown high school U16 girls took part in the North Powys tournament on Tuesday in Machynlleth. The girls won their first match against Llanidloes giving them the confidence to go on and win against strong Machynlleth and Llanfyllin sides, before losing to experienced Welshpool and Caereinion in their remaining games. The girls grew with every game learning from their mistakes and from watching other teams play. Captain Maria Ewers stepped up to play Goal Defence and made some amazing interceptions, Blythe Jones helped to work the ball up the court whilst also dropping back to defend as center. Both Cara Farrington and Lacey Clegg had their eye in, scoring some amazing goals.All the girls played with great effort for the whole 5 games and managed to come 3rd overall due to their excellent team morale and team play. The girls were great ambassadors for the school playing with respect for the other players and the umpires. Well done girls!Also a big thank you to Coach and Gold Ambassado
• Thursday 7 November 2024 North Powys Football Tournament Success A cracking day of football at Latham Park for today's North Powys KS3 Football Tournament.
• Thursday 7 November 2024 U14 & U16 Boys Rugby vs Llanfyllin Both our U14 & U16 rugby teams enjoyed hard-fought wins this week against strong visiting Llanfyllin teams, both games action-packed and great entertainment for the watching pupils and parents in the crowd!
• Tuesday 29 October 2024 Rugby U14 & U16 vs Welshpool Our boys u14 & u16 teams started off this year’s schools rugby fixtures with the short visit over to Welshpool.
• Monday 21 October 2024 Welsh Cup Football U12 Boys 2 v 3 Welshpool On Thursday 17th October our Yr7 Boys bowed out of the Welsh Cup with a spirited performance full of endeavour against a talented home side.
• Wednesday 16 October 2024 Welsh Cup Boys Football U13s 3 vs 1 Welshpool Our U13 Boys football team are through to the Powys Final of the Welsh Cup after beating Welshpool 3-1 this afternoon with a fantastic performance in a very keenly contested and entertaining match.
• Tuesday 8 October 2024 Welsh Cup Football U18 Boys vs Llanidloes Last Tuesday (1st October) it was the turn of our U18 Boys Football Team in the Welsh Cup, who put in a good performance in their 1st round match at home against visitors Llanidloes, before eventually falling to 2 late goals in an evenly matched and entertaining 2-4 loss.
• Friday 4 October 2024 Honours for rugby stars Current yr13 pupil Izzy Jones recently earned the call up to the Wales u18 Ladies team to play against USA at the Cardiff Arms Park! A fantastic achievement and just reward for all her hard work, well done Izzy!
• Wednesday 25 September 2024 Welsh Cup Football U12 & U14 Boys A successful start for both Newtown Campus teams in yesterday’s Welsh Cup 1st round fixtures vs John Beddoes Campus at Presteigne.
• Tuesday 24 September 2024 U13 Football - Newtown Campus v Llanfyllin High School On Thursday 19th September our U13 girls played their first round game in the Welsh Schools Football Cup against Llanfyllin High School. The game was really competitive at half time with the score at 0-0, but in the second half Llanfyllin took control of the match and scored some late goals to secure their place in the next round.
• Thursday 19 September 2024 Welsh Cup Football A successful start to the 2024 Welsh Schools Football Cup for our u13 & u15 boys teams against visitors Bro Hyddgen on Wednesday 18th September.
• Friday 12 July 2024 Welsh Athletics Cup & Plate Finals - Wednesday 10th July On Wednesday our U14 & U16 Boys Athletics teams competed in the Welsh Athletics Cup & Plate Finals in Brecon.
• Wednesday 3 July 2024 James Corfield Memorial Cricket Match 2024 We had a really enjoyable evening on Tuesday 2nd July for our Boys Cricket team in the annual James Corfield Memorial Cricket Match vs Welshpool High School held at Montgomery Cricket Club.
• Monday 10 June 2024 Powys Schools Athletics Championships 2024 Before half term we took 46 pupils down to Brecon for the annual Powys Schools Track & Field Athletics Championships, the biggest event in the sporting calendar with 13 schools attending and approximately 500 pupils competing.

• Tuesday 27 February 2024 Welsh Inter-Counties Netball Championships 2024 A massive well done to Blythe, Halle and Pheobe (pictured) who all represented North Powys incredibly well in the Welsh Inter-Counties Netball u14/u16/u18 Championships at the Sports Village in Cardiff over the weekend.

• Wednesday 24 January 2024 Powys Schools Cross Country Championships - 17th January Last week was the Powys Schools Cross Country Championships in Dolerw Park, Newtown. Lots of fantastic results from our pupils who were a credit to the school, competing against 9 other schools from Powys and generally in a field of 50-60 runners for each age group.

• Tuesday 9 January 2024 Inter-Schools Cross Country 2023 Fantastic effort from our pupils who competed in the Welsh Inter-Schools Cross Country Championships at a wet and muddy Dolerw Park on Saturday 18th November 2023. Well done Leal, Masie, Henry & Corey.
• Tuesday 9 January 2024 James Corfield Cricket Match The annual James Corfield Memorial Cricket Match between Newtown & Welshpool High Schools took place in September. The weather finally brought a halt to proceedings and it ended in a draw. There was a great effort made from both teams.
