Head's Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you, as a parent or prospective pupil, to our school website. The information within seeks to introduce you to Newtown High School and I hope it will be of use. Of course, the most effective way to experience our caring atmosphere and ethos CYFLE is by visiting our school; you can do this by organising personal visit with us or attendance at our Open Evening.

The atmosphere within the school is warm and friendly. Our facilities are excellent and we offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities such as sporting, musical cultural or leisure. We believe that these activities enrich a pupil’s experience and contribute to the learning process. We have experienced and well qualified staff and we are proud of our achievements both in and out of the classroom.

During their time spent at Newtown High School your child will mature into a young adult. This is a significant process and we endeavour to provide a caring, rewarding, disciplined school environment in which our pupils can reach their potential. We want them to have high expectations of themselves and of their school.

As a school we reflect the best of traditional values and practices but we also respond to the needs of a changing world.  Our school uniform is a source of pride for our pupils and staff and a full list is included on our website and in our prospectus. We are grateful to parents for assisting us in maintaining our high standards of dress.
