North Powys Schools Badminton

A massive well done to our pupils from Years 8 and 10 who represented the school fantastically well at the North Powys Schools Badminton Qualifiers (5th January 2025) for the North Wales Finals.

The day saw 2 teams of 4 pupils each for both girls and boys, and for each age group, who made the short trip over to Maldwyn to compete against teams from Llanidloes, Welshpool and Bro Hyddgen, knowing that the top 2 teams for each age would make it through to the North Wales Finals in Deeside.

Our yr8 teams put in a fantastic effort, with both our Girls A & Boys A teams remaining unbeaten throughout the day, both finishing in 1st place and qualifying for the North Wales Finals! Both our yr B Teams also performed extremely well, both winning 2 of their 4 matches and finishing in 3rd place.

Our yr10 teams also put in very impressive displays, with both our A Teams winning 4 of their 5 matches to claim 2nd place and qualification for the North Wales Finals. Our B Teams were competitive throughout, competing in close-fought matches to finish with 2 wins each out of 5 matches and finishing 4th.

A massive well done to you all, as always an absolute credit to the school, and good luck in the North Wales Finals! Da iawn pawb!
