Thursday 22 August 2024 Celebrations continue at Newtown High School following a "pleasing" set of GCSE results at campuses in Newtown and Presteigne Newtown High School is incredibly pleased to see the hard work and efforts of our students being rewarded. We are today celebrating a positive set of GCSE results and this can only be attributed to the resilience, tenacity, cheerfulness and high spirits of a special group of students.Acting Headteachers, Mrs Natalie Havard and Mrs Suzy Craddock-Bennett, expressed immense pride in the students' achievements, stating, "This year's GCSE results are a testament to the commitment and perseverance of our students, the unwavering support of their families, and the dedication of our outstanding staff. We are incredibly proud of the success they have achieved. We must also remember the challenges this cohort of pupils have faced, they have in essence spent every year of their secondary education in the middle, or the aftermath, of the pandemic. Today is a time to reflect and celebrate their achievements, it’s so pleasing to see the smiles on the pupils faces and we are so proud of them."
