• Tuesday 9 July 2024 Welsh Schools Track & Field Championships 2024 - Saturday 5th July A big well done to Kieron Watson, James Riordan, Vincent Evans and Shay Paul who all represented Powys on Saturday in Cardiff. Special mention to Kieron who jumped 1.70m in the High Jump to claim a bronze medal and to Shay for coming third in the 4x100m relay to also claim a bronze. Fantastic achievement, well done all of you!

There will be science exams taking place that morning, but we will also be holding some celebrations to commemorate the pupils’ time at Newtown High School and then pupils will be allowed to leave school at 12:30pm.

• Monday 4 March 2024 Letter to parents - unstructured time and behaviour It has come to our attention that there has been a noticeable increase in pushing, shoving, barging, and play fighting among the boys during their free time. This behaviour, although often perceived as innocent play, can have several negative impacts. Not only does it pose a potential risk for physical harm, but it also creates an atmosphere that may be unsettling for others.

This is an opportunity for you to meet with your child’s teachers and discuss their current progress in each of their subjects as well as explore some of the options subjects which may be available to your child in September 2024.
