Newtown High School celebrate a successful return to A Level exam results

Newtown High School is celebrating another set of successful A Level exam results.

Acting Headteacher Natalie Havard added, “I wish to congratulate our students on their AS and A-Level results."

Outstanding results from students include: Marianne Despres-Davies (three As and one A*) who has deferred her plans to go on to Cardiff University to study Medicine as she embarks on a year volunteering for Red Cross in Paris, Alanah Blayney (two As, one B and One C ) who intends to study to Psychology in Cardiff University, Dylan Owen (two As, one B and a one D) who is studying Business Economics at Cardiff University, and Dylan Ramirez Chavaz (one B, one A and one A*) who will go on to Birmingham University to study Chemistry.

Notable performances at AS level include Francesca Humphreys (four As), Elle Evans (two Bs and two Cs) Katie Benbow (two As and one C), Lucy Powell (one A and two Bs) and Halle Trigg (two As and one B).

"It was a pleasure to see the students collecting their results today, and achieving some outstanding grades. I would like to thank all of our school staff who have worked tirelessly in supporting our students through their studies. Their hard work and continued efforts have clearly paid off."
