This year Newtown High School will be working towards achieving Welsh Language Charter awards. The purpose of the Charter is to promote a strong Welsh ethos in our school and instill positives attitudes and confidence towards the Welsh language both inside and outside of the classroom. The charter aims to provide a range of enrichment activities and opportunities to learn more about the Welsh language and culture, further developing our Cynefin.
In order to achieve our aim, we will be working collectively with all members of our school community. Here in school we will be working to develop a ‘Criw Cymraeg’ which will consist of learners who will play an instrumental role in driving forwards our aim, through identifying new opportunities to further promote the use of Welsh.
