Student Assembly

The Student Assembly is the democratically elected body to represent students and their views on decisions made in Newtown High School. The Assembly is made up of twenty three students from both campuses and discusses, debates and votes on ideas and policies to improve your experience in school.
 
The Cabinet of the Assembly is the executive body and sits inside the Assembly, making policies and initatives for all students. The Cabinet is made up of six pupils, appointed by the head teacher on the advice of the Chair of the Assembly (The Head Boy and Head Girl).
 
The Student Assembly has the power to pass Measures (written down rules and policies) on seventeen areas it has legislative consent for. These areas include the school environment, rewards, healthy eating and planners.
