Sixth Form updates - Autumn 2022

This year Newtown High School will be working towards achieving Welsh Language Charter awards. The purpose of the Charter is to promote a strong Welsh ethos in our school and instill positives attitudes and confidence towards the Welsh language both inside and outside of the classroom. The charter aims to provide a range of enrichment activities and opportunities to learn more about the Welsh language and culture, further developing our Cynefin.

We have added a new Subject Revision section to the website, containing a set of videos called 'Revise With Mike'. These are available under the Students and Parents menus above.

These resources will help students with techniques for revising, and contain practical guides and tips.

Further resources will be added to this section too.

Year 8 Parents Evening is taking place on Thursday 10th November. The evening will run from 4.30pm-7.00pm in the School Hall.

Students will receive letters about this today and Monday (20/10 and 24/10), and next week will be given appointments sheets in order to start booking appointments with their class teachers. There is a slip at the bottom of the appointments sheet for parents to sign and return, to confirm their child has received an appointments sheet and to indicate whether they are attending the Parents Evening.

Newtown High School is very proud to be part of the Careers Wales Alumni Network Project this year. We are calling on any former students of the school (both Newtown Campus and John Beddoes Campus) to help us. By signing up to the Alumni Network, you will be supporting our current students by raising awareness of the opportunities that exist out there after school and helping to raise student aspirations for the future.

Please would you be able to help us by joining the Newtown High School Alumni Network using the link below:
