George W guided home a stunning free-kick after 1 minute to give us a perfect start, further good play saw Newtown rewarded again with goals from Harry and another from George W. Man of the Match Jake P did his best to stifle the home team attacks, however it was Welshpool who adapted better to the full size-pitch and goals on the astro-turf surface to seal a 7v3 win.

U13s - a10v5 win in the first round vs Calon Cymru was rewarded with a home tie vs Llanfair in the next round. Newtown started off brightly and took the lead with a fine Harry W finish after excellent build-up play from midfield and had a number of further chances to cement their lead which weren't taken, before allowing Llanfair back into the game shortly before half-time who made it 1-1. Two defensive lapses after half time were capitalised on by the away team to make it 3-1, however Newtown kept on playing the majority of the football and got them selves back to 3-2 with an adept George W finish. Newtown piled on the pressure for the remainder of the game however couldn't find a way to convert their chances, final score 3-2.

U14s - after convincing 5v1 and 10v3 wins vs Llanidloes and Bro Hyddgen in the earlier rounds, Newtown faced Llanfair at home in the Powys Final, a repeat of last year's final for this year group. The away team started better and caught Newtown napping at the back to make it 1v0 early in the game, with Newtown showing great resilience and adaptability to deal with the opposition threats and keep themselves in the game. Chances were created to equalise however weren't converted with the score staying 1v0 to half-time. Newtown started the second half brightly with captain Alvaro becoming more of an influence in the centre and Ethan, Brooklyn, Tom and Riley helping to keep it tight at the back. As Newtown pushed forward for an equaliser they were hit on the break, with a penalty awarded for the away team to make it 2v0 with less than 10 mins to go. Newtown kept on battling away but couldn't convert their chances, final score 2v0.

A solid effort and improvement on last season's performance against the same team!

A below-par performance in the Llani game resulted in a resounding 6v0 loss before an improved performance against a strong Llanfair team kept it a competitive match up before two late goals made it 6v2 final score, goals from centre-forward Kyle and hard-working midfielder Joel weren't quite enough.
