Key Stage Three (Yr7,8 and 9)

The Curriculum for Wales (CfW) KS3 Maths focuses on developing mathematical skills and understanding in students aged 11-14. Here’s a brief overview for parents:

Key Areas of Learning

  1. Number: Understanding and working with numbers, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  2. Algebra: Introducing algebraic concepts, solving equations, and understanding sequences.
  3. Geometry: Exploring shapes, space, and measures, including properties of angles and coordinates.
  4. Statistics and Probability: Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data, and understanding basic probability.
  5. Ratio and Proportion: Solving problems involving ratios, proportions, and rates of change.

Key Stage Four (Yr10 and 11)

 In Key Stage 4, students prepare for two GCSEs with WJEC

GCSE Mathematics, traditional Maths GCSE and GCSE Numeracy, real life application of Maths skills. 

 

To prepare for these GCSE Students should be revising on average 1 hour a week building up to longer nearer the exam date.
